Lisa A. Borges
Lisa A. Borges is CEO and Founder of Anchor Foundation Consulting, LLC, helping organizations fulfill their dreams and achieve long term sustainability. Currently, Lisa is serving as Executive Director for the TB12 Foundation and consults with other nonprofit organizations in the Boston area including Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation, Beyond the Boundaries, Wrestle Like A Girl and the Anthony F. Cordeiro Charitable Foundation. Early on in her consulting practice, she also spent time as the Interim Executive Director for the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care. In addition, Lisa serves as faculty of the Sports and Entertainment Impact Certificate program, teaching Legal Compliance for nonprofits.
Prior to Anchor Foundation Consulting, Lisa served as Executive Director of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for more than eighteen years where she was responsible for the overall leadership and strategic development of the organization. Throughout her career she has initiated, directed, and managed annual operating budgets, daily operations, and organizational growth for the Flutie Foundation and private clients. She led and supervised organizational expansion while increasing business knowledge, value and the bottom line. Lisa is a performance-oriented, creative executive with demonstrated success launching startups and overseeing nonprofit expansion. A hands-on leader recognized for exceptional performance while supporting and leading staff through change management.
Through Lisa’s leadership, the Flutie Foundation was a recipient of the 2016 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Sports Award, where she previously served on the annual grant review committee. Lisa herself was a recipient of the 2016 Autism Champion Award from the Autism Insurance Resource Center at UMass Medical School as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from Advocates for Autism of Massachusetts in 2018.
Lisa started her career at the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation as a Loan Specialist and also worked for two years as a Marketing Coordinator with Woolf Associates, a Boston sports marketing company. She serves on the board of several nonprofits in a leadership capacity and has been a guest speaker or presenter for multiple conferences, workshops and college level courses. Lisa earned a JD from New England School of Law and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Clark University. Lisa also founded the Celebrity & Athlete Foundation Forum in Boston to build a network and share best practices in this specialized charitable community.
